What is Medicaid?

Medicaid is a joint federal and state program in the United States that provides health coverage for individuals with low income, including some low-income adults, children, pregnant women, elderly adults, and people with disabilities. The program is administered by states according to federal requirements, and it varies somewhat from state to state.

Medicaid covers a wide range of medical services, including hospital and doctor visits, prescription drugs, preventive care, mental health services, and more. It aims to ensure that individuals and families with limited financial resources have access to necessary healthcare services. Eligibility for Medicaid is determined based on factors such as income, household size, and other circumstances.

Note: If you live in a county outside of these RAEs, we are more than happy to connect you with providers who support your county and RAE. Each RAE’s contact information can also be found HERE.

In the State of Colorado, each region is designated as a Regional Accountable Entity(RAE). Each region has a specific organization that supports its RAE. The two RAEs we work with are Colorado Access and the Colorado Community Health Alliance. Click the buttons below to learn about each organization.

These two RAE programs cover the following regions:

Colorado Access/CHP+: Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas, and Elbert Counties

Colorado Community Health Alliance (CCHA): Boulder, Broomfield, Clear Creek, El Paso, Gilpin, Jefferson, Park and Teller Counties
