Josephine Ampaw and Ampaw Psychotherapy & Consulting. LLC are not emergency resources and are unable to provide crisis resources. Because of this, we believe It is essential to point our community to crisis resources and emergency resources in Colorado and nationwide (USA).
Along with providing general resources, it is important to us to name community resources that specialize in providing emergency resources to minoritized communities.
As a reminder, please be aware that police/police departments are often not equipped to offer mental health support and may even pose danger to minoritized communities including but not limited to: People of Color, Neurodivergent people and Disabled/ Differently Abled people. Please ALSO reach out to community leaders, neighbors, friends, and family to be present if you are calling the police. Also, please note that some crisis line organizations and workers are mandated to report calls concerning suicide to the police. If this is a concern, we encourage you to first ask about their reporting policies before sharing. For more information of why this is important and where I got this language from, please visit Inclusive Therapists HERE .
Josephine Ampaw and Ampaw Psychotherapy and Consulting LLC are not affiliated with any of the organizations listed below.
If you are experiencing a life threatening emergency at the moment, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or crisis, please utilize the following resources for support in Colorado and nationwide.
In listing these resources, It is important for us to name that identities are intersectional and impact one another. With that, these resources can overlap as needed.
