Our clinical orientation focuses on starting with getting to know the human in front of us. Whether It is starting from their lived experience and/or building trust in our relationship, It is important for us to center the many parts clients bring into therapy. This includes centering the intersectional identities clients hold and the ways that you show up. Taking an approach that includes recognizing the expertise you hold regarding your life and an approach that celebrates your lived experiences in anti-oppressive ways is where we like to begin with all clients. Holding an intersectional, anti-oppressive, Health at Every Size®, body liberation, approach means we are able to effectively celebrate each part my clients bring to our sessions!
Along with starting from understanding the human, we believe in pulling from interventions as they fit the needs of the client. we utilize the following interventions as they fit:
Narrative Therapy
Attachment Theory
Psychodynamic Therapy
Gestalt Therapy
Emotionally Focused Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)
Structural Family Therapy
Intersectional Sex Therapy
What are these bulleted types of therapy? They are different evidence based interventions that encourage openness and transparency on my end while using strategies that center humanity. It is important for me to continually receive training so I can provide the best therapy to my clients.
